A Lifetime of Compassion, Care, and Second Chances

We believe every horse, regardless of age, ability, or past, deserves a safe and loving home.

The Horse Sanctuary

At Rahal Ranch offers a forever refuge for rescued, retired, and abandoned horses. Here, they are simply allowed to be horses—free to heal, roam, and rediscover peace.

The sanctuary is named after Rahal, a once-neglected champion who was rescued from a queue outside a dog meat factory in Sydney, Australia.

His journey from fear to freedom embodies the very heart of our mission: to honor resilience and offer renewal. Every horse at Rahal Ranch has a name, a story, and a future filled with open spaces, attentive care, and gentle companionship.

The sanctuary is funded by visitor contributions, donations, and sponsorships, which ensure the animals receive proper nutrition, veterinary care, grooming, and environmental enrichment, which creates stimulating spaces and activities that encourage their natural behaviours and boost their mental and physical well-being.

What Makes Us Special

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Yes—through our Adopt-a-Horse Sponsorship Program.
While most of our sanctuary horses will remain in our care for life, you can make a meaningful impact by symbolically adopting a horse through sponsorship.

How It Works: When you “adopt” a horse, you become their dedicated sponsor. With your monthly or annual donation, you directly contribute to their feed, veterinary care, grooming, and enrichment. In return, you’ll receive exclusive updates, photos, and the unique opportunity to give your sponsored horse a name (if they don’t already have one).

It’s a personal and rewarding way to support rescue horses.
Perfect for individuals, families, schools, or even corporate CSR programs.
Sponsorship helps us provide lifelong, high-quality care for horses who can no longer be rehomed. You create a legacy of compassion—without the demands of physical ownership.

100% of sanctuary donations go directly to the care of the horses—this includes feed, vet services, dental care, farriery, shelter maintenance, and enrichment items.
